"Create each day anew by clothing yourself with heaven and earth, bathing yourself with wisdom and love, and placing yourself in the heart of Mother Nature." -Morihei Ueshiba

These accommodations consist of a sunlit dining room; a kitchen with a propane and a wood cook stove; a reading/meeting room; and six beautiful and comfortable bedrooms. All of the upstairs rooms have large windows with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Each sleeping room can accommodate 2 to 5 people. A special family or group room is also available. Indoor accommodations can sleep up to 26 people.

The first floor of the building includes two change rooms (each with showers) 2 wash rooms, and a 1600 sq. ft. practice space. The practice space is covered with 78 tatamis and can sleep many students during large seminars. The entire building is warmed by wood heat during the winter months. As of 2009 in-floor heating warms the practice space and change rooms.

Scrumptious organic food will be provided at an additional cost. Much of the food will be grown and processed on sight or locally, to maintain its vitality. The Kootenays is a nutrient rich region with many organic farms and orchards to supply food for our guests. The preparation of the food will be focused and surrounded with love as to maintain its high-energy value.

There are camping facilities available from spring to fall. Summertime climate in the Kootenays promises many days of warmth and sunshine. Camping outdoors during late July and early August can be quite a luxury.

There are many opportunities for outdoor fitness activities year-round. Students and guests can take advantage of the mountainous terrain, the river lowlands and Slocan Lake. The Kootenays is ripe with people who have experience in several forms of outdoor recreation including: rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, even igloo construction and overnight glacial excursions. Ecotours can be arranged. Participants can be led through the mountains by expert mountain bikers and wilderness guides, or can participate in low impact nature walks. Guests can schedule educational walks and talks about edible and medicinal plants; bird identification and habitat; tree identification; wildlife tracking; cultural and geological history; and geography. Prices for accommodation for groups utilizing the full facility, is $600 per day. The dojo practice space can be rented alone (with the inclusion of the washrooms and change rooms) for $150 full day or $75 half-day. Camping accommodations including solar shower are available for $15 per night. Please email shiromatsu@whitepinesdojo.com for further information.
